How to Apply to a Topic

Topics are open solicitations posted by federal agencies seeking specific technology solutions. This guide explains how to find and apply to a topic that matches your capabilities.

Step 1: Find Relevant Topics

Go to Explore Topics from the main navigation. Use the category filters or search bar to find topics aligned with your technology area.

Step 2: Review the Topic Details

Click a topic card to view the full description, including:

• Agency name and point of contact
• Technology Readiness Level (TRL) requirements
• Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) requirements
• Application deadline and evaluation criteria

Step 3: Prepare Your Application

Before applying, ensure your company profile is complete with current capability statements, NAICS codes, and certifications. A complete profile improves your match score.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

Click Apply Now on the topic detail page. Complete the short application form describing how your technology addresses the agency's need. Attach any supporting documents if prompted.

Step 5: Track Application Status

View all submitted applications under My Applications in your dashboard. You'll receive email notifications when the agency reviews your submission.
